- From 2 to 4 October 2024, TOME’s 2nd internal team School was held in Dobřichovice in Panská zahrada venue. Participants from all three TOME’s research groups gathered to collaborate, exchange knowledge, and build stronger connections. The event featured a series of interactive workshops, group discussions, and team-building activities. You can find a report from this event here.
- On 18 October 18 2024, “Computational History Meets History of Science” one-day workshop was held in Pilsen. Here you can see the program and here you can watch and listen to Petr Pavlas’ talk.
- On 24 October 2024, Jo Hedesan delivered a talk in Prague at the Department of Comenius Studies and Early Modern Intellectual History (Institute of Philosophy of the Czech Academy of Sciences). The talk was titled “Analysing Paracelsus’ Views of Alchemy with Digital Humanities Methods”. Here you can watch and listen to the lecture.
- On 8 November 2024, Vojtěch Kaše gave a talk at the Charles University, Faculty of Sciences, titled “Kulturní evoluce metafor vědění v raném novověku: komputační přístup” [Cultural evolution of metaphors in early modernity: A computational approach]. Here you can access Vojtěch’s presentation.
- On 14-16 November 2024, Lenka Řezníková, Lucie Storchová, and Márton Szentpéteri attended conference on Comenius, Education, Anthropology, and Cosmology in Naarden, Netherlands. Lenka Řezníková held a talk titled “Sense or Skill? Comenius’ Conceptualization of Memory”. Lucie Storchová gave a talk on “Natural Philosophy for Common Readers? The Case of the Bohemian Lands around 1600”, and Márton Szentpéteri delivered a talk titled “‘Alsted, You Animal!’: Herborn Methods of Teaching Languages in Early Modern Transylvania”.
