Updates from the Computational Group
- The Computational Group is currently focusing on studying the BERT Latin model and its dynamic embeddings to evaluate its usability for metaphor detection. In parallel, the group is developing visual tools to enhance semantic analysis. These tools will allow users, including the broader public, to visualize the semantic proximity and relatedness of lemmata (static embeddings) from the NOSCEMUS dataset in both 2D and 3D via a user-friendly web interface.
Progress in the Digital-Philological Group
- The Digital-Philological Group has been making strides with the TOME digital corpus, with approximately 25 books now cleaned and prepared for analysis. However, the team has faced significant challenges with TRANSKRIBUS in recent days, slowing progress in digitizing additional texts.
New Publication
- A review of The Unconscious of Thought in Leibniz, Spinoza, and Hume by Alessandro Nannini has been published. This work explores deep philosophical questions about unconscious thought in early modern philosophy and adds a valuable perspective to the field.
